  • Academic and Personal Counselor

    Strake Jesuit is currently seeking qualified applicants for the full-time faculty position of Academic and Personal Counselor.
     
    The Counselor will assume a caseload of students. With his or her caseload, the counselor leads daily counseling groups with a wide-ranging curriculum on topics like relationships, mental health, leadership, study skills, course selection, and key academic and personal transitions between grades and through adolescence. 
     
    The Academic and Personal Counselor also anticipates and responds to students’ unique needs in both ordinary and crisis circumstances, including meeting one-on-one with students and families, and serving a key collaborative role with other faculty and administration. 
     
    All faculty and staff participate in an ongoing teacher formation program, assist in the daily needs of the school community, attend and support one or more student retreats, and moderate or assist in at least one extracurricular program.
     
    Applicants must possess a professional license in a mental health field. Applicants who are on track for licensing will be considered. Extensive experience is a significant asset, especially in education, or in group and individual counseling. The successful candidate must be skilled in group dynamics and management, curriculum development, and classroom instruction. Applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, organizational and leadership skills, and proficiency with technology.   • College Counselor

    Strake Jesuit is currently seeking qualified applicants for the full-time faculty position of College Counselor.
     
    The College Counselor’s duties include advising a caseload of students on all issues pertaining to the college admissions process, preparing needed materials for that process, and otherwise supporting their college readiness and transition to college. The counselor meets regularly with students and their families, and writes a highly personalized recommendation for each one. College Counselors teach College Readiness groups to their students, and provide part-time teaching in the academic area best suited to his or her education and experience. This position includes some necessary travel to visit colleges and for professional development. 
     
    All faculty and staff participate in an ongoing teacher formation program, assist in the daily needs of the school community, attend and support one or more student retreats, and moderate or assist in at least one extracurricular program.

  • Football - Offensive Coordinator

    Strake Jesuit is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Football - Offensive Coordinator. This position will be a full-time member of the teaching faculty who assists the coaching staff in all phases of our football program, in addition to other coaching duties to be determined. 
     
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Serve as the Offensive Coordinator for the football program under the direction of the Head Football Coach and consistent with the mission of Strake Jesuit College Preparatory.
    • Work primarily with football coaching staff and football players while installing an offensive system. 
    • Work alongside SJCP training staff, strength and conditioning staff and administrators. 
    • Provide instruction and coach athletes to develop the skills and ability to excel.
    • Responsible for contributing to the educational program as a whole and to the growth of each athlete at the freshmen, JV and Varsity levels.  
    • Work effectively with coaches to develop a coordinated, comprehensive, and vertically aligned athletic program. This may also include, but is not limited to, oversite of offensive assistant coaches, coaching and teaching offensive system, managing football program HUDL account, attendance at other sporting events, attendance at sporting retreats, working athletic events, etc.

  • Instructional Coach

    Strake Jesuit is currently seeking qualified applicants for the full-time faculty position of Instructional Coach.

    This creative, flexible, innovative educational leader supports faculty with instructional coaching of effective instructional practices to enhance student learning and to further the mission of the school. Working at the direction of the AP for Academics and AP for Formation, the Instructional Coach provides guidance, training, coaching, and support in a variety of settings including one-on-one meetings, small groups, workshops, and faculty meetings. The Instructional Coach promotes the Jesuit educational mission through the particular style and process of teaching of Ignatian Pedagogy. The Instructional Coach helps teachers understand and grow in the Ignatian principles guiding Jesuit education and helps make these principles practically applied to everyday classroom instruction. The Instructional Coach further assists faculty in designing effective lessons and assessments, aligning lesson plans to outcomes, promoting classroom best practices, learning effective teaching strategies, developing as an Ignatian educator, and implementing Ignatian Pedagogy in the classroom. The Instructional Coach also assists in the training of Department Chairs and other faculty members as instructional leaders to become exemplary coaches of teachers, participates in the formal teacher evaluation process through observations and follow-up conversations with faculty members on a regular basis, assists faculty with their yearly goals, and supports faculty with suggestions and strategies to improve curriculum, instruction, assessment, and classroom management.

    Strake Jesuit is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Lacrosse Coach. The Assistant Lacrosse Coach will be a part-time staff who assists the coaching staff with organizing, planning and coaching the lacrosse team. In addition, the assistant coach will assist in all phases of a highly competitive THSLL Class A lacrosse program including but not limited to: on-field coaching and training, organization of practice and game strategies, film review, and other duties as assigned by the head coach and/or the Strake Jesuit athletic department. Previous experience as a player and coach is preferred.

  • Learning Specialist

    Strake Jesuit is currently seeking qualified applicants for the full-time faculty position of Learning Specialist. 
     
    This person joins our Learning Resource Center, which provides individualized support for students with learning differences and their families. The Learning Specialist will assume a caseload of students to provide needed educational coaching and support specific to their experiences and abilities. Other responsibilities include parent communication and collaboration, assistance in the general operation of LRC programs, collaborating with teachers and other departments regarding student needs and services, and part-time teaching in an academic department.

  • Director of Information Technology

    Position Summary 

    Reporting to the President, this is a permanent, full time, year-round, and exempt position.  Compensation includes a full array of employee benefits. This position is located at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston, Texas. Strake Jesuit is looking to fill this position as soon as possible.
     
    The Director of Information Technology is a pivotal administrator at the school responsible for the school's technological landscape. This position demands an effective communicator and strong collaborator who will work intimately with other administrators, notably the Director of Operations and the Assistant Principal for Academics. The role encompasses strategic planning and execution of technology initiatives that align with the school's mission, educational goals, and Jesuit Catholic values. A key aspect of this role is managing and ensuring the delivery of effective customer service to students, faculty, and staff. This involves not only overseeing the technology infrastructure and digital resources but also ensuring that these services are accessible, user-friendly, and responsive to the needs of the school community. The Director will lead a talented dedicated team within the IT department with focus and direction to provide robust support and innovative solutions, enhancing both educational and administrative functions. This position is crucial for integrating technology in ways that enrich the learning experience for its 1400 students and empower its 200 faculty and staff members, across the expansive main campus and the Retreat & Leadership Center located two hours north of Houston while ensuring standards for high availability (HA) and performance are incorporated throughout.
     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

    Leadership and Strategy:
       - Develop and implement a strategic IT plan aligned with the school's educational goals and Jesuit values.
       - Lead, mentor, and manage the IT department, including 5 employees and 2 interns.
       - Collaborate with academic and administrative leaders to enhance the school’s technological capabilities.
       - Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and partners.
     
    Infrastructure Management:
       - Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of IT infrastructure across both campuses.
       - Ensure reliable network connectivity, data security, and system integrity.
       - Administer the one-to-one iPad program for students and manage the distribution of iPads and MacBook Pros to faculty.
     
    Educational Technology Integration:
       - Promote the effective use of technology in teaching and learning through close collaboration with instructional leaders and instructional coaches.
       - Provide training and support to faculty and staff in integrating technology into the curriculum and the classroom environment.

       - Develop and maintain robust cybersecurity strategies and protocols to protect the school’s digital assets and sensitive data; both on campus and for remote users.

    - Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management, preferably in an educational environment.
    - Strong leadership, staff development, and team management skills.
    - Proficiency in managing Apple and Microsoft products, network administration (Cisco, Meraki, various utilities, and monitoring systems/platforms, etc.), and educational technology platforms.
    - Excellent communication, organizational, team building and problem-solving skills.
    - Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Jesuit education.
