50th ANNIVERSARY

During the 2010-2011 school year, Strake Jesuit celebrated its 50th Anniversary. Founded in 1960, the school opened its doors for the first day of classes on September 15, 1961 (delayed five days due to Hurricane Carla). Over the course of the year, a number of events and projects were undertaken to celebrate this historical year.

~ TWO MAJOR PROJECTS MARK ANNIVERSARY ~
A special commemorative book, "We Are SJ", highlighting Strake Jesuit's first 50 years was produced to great acclaim. In fact, the book won Advertising Federation awards in Houston as well as at the regional level (click here for more). A limited number of books are still available. If you have not acquired one, there is still time. Click here to order online for just $40 plus shipping and handling.

A short video was produced that tells the story of how Strake Jesuit came to be and of the struggles over the course of its first decade in the 1960's. To view the video, click here.
