Dear Friends,
Welcome to Strake Jesuit College Preparatory!
Since our founding by Fr. Michael Kennelly, SJ in 1960, Strake Jesuit has been educating boys from the Houston area to become Men for Others. Now in our fifth decade, our commitment to excellence is seen in academics and athletics, in our retreat programs and our community service opportunities, in a wide range of extra-curricular activities all designed to help a boy grow to be a responsible man of faith.
While Jesuits have been in Houston since 1960, we have been educating young men worldwide since 1540. For almost five centuries Jesuits have known that education is a key way to serve God's Greater Glory.
Our mission is focused on graduating young men who, through our rigorous training, reflect our ideals of being intellectually competent, open to growth, religious, loving, and committed to doing justice.
I invite you to learn more about the school as you visit our website, but hope you visit the campus in person when you can. Our 52 acres provide a tranquil setting for our classrooms, our athletic fields, and our art museum.
This is an extraordinary community made up of students and faculty, parents and alumni. If you are member of this community, you already know that this is a special place. If you are considering joining us, you have some exciting times ahead.
I hope you find the information on this website helpful, and I hope to see you soon here on Bellaire Boulevard.
Sincerely,
Fr. Daniel K. Lahart, SJ
