Ten years after Jesuit opened in 1961, the school found itself in a financial crisis. As the crisis was being addressed, the Mothers’ Club came together to assist with the school's financial aid program. As a result, Spring Fling was born.
Each year the proceeds from the Spring Fling Festival and Raffle support the financial aid program. Last year's Raffle and Festival raised $275,000 which contributed to Jesuit providing 124 deserving young men the assistance they needed to attend Strake Jesuit.
The Spring Fling Festival is a fun-filled day of games for the young and young-at-heart. Attractions include scrumptious foods – international for the adventurous and carnival-like smorgasbord for the die-hard Texan - casino action, live entertainment, a marketplace for gift ideas or used books and getting to spend time with the Strake Jesuit Family, Faculty and Friends. It is a tradition that brings together current families, past parents, alumni and even friends from all over the Houston area.
