Jesuit Soccer

Each year about 100 soccer players compete for the Crusaders five soccer teams. Soccer officially began at Strake Jesuit in the 1974 - 1975 season. The Crusaders played in the Texas Christian Interscholastic League for twenty-six seasons. Jesuit won six state championships in the TCIL, and was runner-up nine times! The team finished with 20 or more wins in 19 seasons.

As members of the University Interscholastic League, Jesuit's varsity and JV soccer teams compete in District 19-5A with Katy ISD schools and Memorial High School. The Sophomore and Freshmen teams compete against public and private schools.

In 2004, Strake Jesuit's first season in the UIL, the Crusaders finished third in District 19-5A and qualified for the Bi-District playoffs. In 2005, the varsity team won three consecutive playoff games, each in dramatic fashion by scoring the winning goal in double overtime, eventually losing in the Regional Quarterfinal game. The Crusaders qualified for the UIL playoffs in 2007, but fell 2 - 1 in an overtime shootout to Cinco Ranch in the Bi-District round.  In 2010 the Crusaders went undefeated through the regular season, winning district and regionals to make it to the UIL 5A State Championship Game.  The Crusaders fell in their only loss of the season to Dallas Jesuit in the State Championship game.

Strake Jesuit has had many players go on to play college soccer at NAIA, NCAA Div. 3, and NCAA Div. 1 schools. The most notable is Nelson Akwari '00, who went to UCLA, and has played five seasons in Major League soccer (MLS) with Columbus Crew, New York Metrostars (now Red Bull), and Real Salt Lake.

The Crusaders play their home games in Crusader Stadium, Father Alchediak Field on campus.
