I. ADVENTURE

Program: Action Whitewater Adventures Summer Camps: Shingle Springs, California (Sierra Nevada Mountain Range)
Description: This program provides students with the opportunity to experience exciting outdoor adventures and educational opportunities. This summer camp is filled with activities such as whitewater rafting, swimming, hiking, fishing, gold mining, and non-stop interaction. Participants are provided with exceptional opportunities to experience the outdoor environment. There is also an SAT Preparatory and Rafting Camp option that is available for students who are preparing for the SAT test college entrance exam.

Program: Wilderness Ventures- Variety of Locations Description: Founded in 1973, this is the oldest and most experienced outdoor Wilderness Adventure travel program for young adults. Each summer a wide variety of carefully designed, challenging, safe, and supportive Teen Adventure Travel Expeditions for young people are offered. On expeditions ranging from fourteen days to six weeks, participants engage in multi-activity outdoor and Wilderness Adventures, including backpacking, whitewater rafting, whitewater kayaking, sea kayaking, rock climbing, canoeing, surfing, inflatable kayaking, mountaineering, fly fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, wind surfing and mountain biking. Description: Savannah College of Art and Design has summer programs available in variety of art related fields. Students can sign up for workshops in areas such as bring artwork to life: animation basics, drawing studio: still life, the painter's studio: acrylic media, and setting the scene: producing design basics.

Program: Ringling School of Art and Design Precollege Perspective: Sarasota, Florida
Description
: This program provides students with an excellent opportunity to learn at a professional college of art and design and to earn three college credits. Students explore visual art and design, while learning contemporary techniques in a studio setting. This program also enables high school students to experience a college environment with challenging creative course content.

: RISD Pre-College Programs in the Arts: Providence, Rhode Island
Description: This program is designed to give students the opportunity to learn about art and design in a college setting. Students gain in-depth experience in area of concentration (i.e. ceramics, drawing, computer animation, painting…). Students receive instruction from faculty members and work on developing their portfolio.

Description: This is a pre-college summer program for students who are interested in the advanced study in the arts. Students engage in an in-depth study in an area of art that is of interest to them. Students learn from advanced instructors and work on developing a portfolio.

Program: Bowling Green Summer Music Institute: Bowling Green, Ohio
Description: This is an intensive music program sponsored by the College of Musical Arts at Bowling Green State University. Students have the opportunity to attend programs and gain experience in their area of interest (i.e. brass, vocal arts, string orchestra).

Program: The Pratt Institute Pre-College Program: New York, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Utica

Description: Founded in 1887 by industrialist and philanthropist Charles Pratt, Pratt Institute offers precollege programs in art, design, architecture, and creative writing for high school students considering careers in those fields. The Pre-College Program is an intense learning experience; 4 college credits are earned upon successful completion. Students develop their creative talents and skills and build an effective portfolio for college admission.

Description: The Credo Program is an intensive chamber music program for exceptional string students. Students receive extensive daily coaching and mentoring from faculty members. The Credo Program includes music study, service, and performance.

Program: National High School Institute at Northwestern University: Evanston, Illinois
Description: This program features in-depth study with college faculty in one of the following divisions: music, journalism, film-production, theatre-arts, debate, and forensics-individual (competitive speech). There are also two adjunct divisions: championship debate and junior statesmen.

Description: This program provides students with the opportunity to learn about various aspects of theatre and drama and to gain hands-on experience in theatre performance.

Program: Theatre Bridge Program at Brown University: Providence, Rhode Island
Description: This program provides young actors with the opportunity work under the mentorship of established theatre professionals. Acting, directing, and writing skills are areas of emphasis. Students work to develop their own original performance pieces.

Description: This program gives students the opportunity to explore different genres of writing (i.e. short story, poetry, playwriting…). Students receive instruction from professional writers and educators. Students also have the opportunity to share their own writing.

Program: Clemson University Economics Camp: Clemson, South Carolina|
Description: Clemson University is offering an economics summer camp to provide an intensive and enjoyable learning environment for highly motivated high school students who want to experience college life and who have an interest in economics and public policy. Clemson recommends students who are entering their senior year of high school apply. There is no cost to attend, and each student will receive up to $300 to defer the cost of travel. The application deadline is March 23.

Program: Leadership in the Business World at the Wharton School of Business: University of Pennsylvania: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Description: This programs provides students with the opportunity to learn about leadership in the field of business and careers in the field of business. Students take part in a variety of activities including participating in discussions, listening to guest speakers, visiting businesses, and participating in experiential learning simulations.  Deadline March 15.

Program: National Young Leadership Conference: Washington, DC
Description: This program provides students with the opportunity to learn about public policy making and to analyze current issues. Students take part in discussions on current issues, participate in simulations, and participate in hands-on learning activities. Students also have the opportunity to speak with current policy makers in Washington DC.

TCU High School Investor Challenge
Juniors. The TCU High School Investor Challenge is a one-week summer camp that teaches high school seniors the techniques of stock investing and portfolio management. Description:
Cybercamps provides students with an opportunity to gain excellent experiences with technology. Description: This program provides students real world experiences and hands-on activities focusing on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.  Each participant receives a $150 stipend at the end of the four week program.

Program: Livewire: Walt Disney Resort in Florida
Description:
This program enables students to customize their own experiences while learning about the behind the scenes aspects of Disney World and Epcot. Students have access to lab space in Epcot and have the opportunity to work on a website, build a video, mash favorite music, or hang out at Disney World. Participating students have an all access pass to the Disney Theme Park.

Program: Mentoring and Enrichment Seminar in Engineering Training; Houston, Texas
Description:

Program: National Computer Camps: The camps are held at Fairfield University, Oglethorpe University, Notre Dame College, and Manhattan College.
Description:
This program provides students with excellent opportunities to learn about various areas in the field of computer technology. Courses are available in video game design, digital video production, webpage design, computer languages, software applications, preparation for the network + certification exam, and preparation for the A+ certification exam.

Description: The Sleuths Summer Science Program is a one-week summer residential camp for students interested in the sciences: biology, chemistry, geology, physics, and mathematics.
