Alumni Service Corps 2021-2022

Each year Strake Jesuit welcomes back a group of alumni, just out of college, who dedicate a year of service in the Alumni Service Corps (ASC). They live in one of the Jesuit residences on the southeast corner of campus, observe a class taught by their faculty mentor, teach one class, work on retreats and service projects, and are involved in any number of possible athletic and extra-curricular activities. This year we welcome back Jared Jimenez ’15, Cooper Viancos ’16, Brandon Clemons ’17, and Matthew Rea ’17.

Jared Jimenez ’15 graduated from Houston Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology: Wellness Management and a minor in Psychology. He joins our Physical Education Department and will assist with track and field. During this year, he is looking forward to building bonds with faculty, staff, and students, as well as aiding our students in their journey to becoming Men for Others. Jared attributes the man he is today to Strake Jesuit, and he is excited to give back to the community through the ASC.

Cooper Viancos ’16 graduated from the University of Florida in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-Finance. He is returning for a second year of service in the ASC. This year he will teach Algebra 2 and assist with band, football, and tennis. For Cooper, there is no better feeling than reinvesting his time into the school that provided him with four years of excellent Jesuit education.

Brandon Clemons ’17 graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies. He joins our Social Studies Department and will assist coaching football and baseball. What he is most looking forward to during his time in the ASC is interacting with the students and faculty, as well as the opportunity to give back to the school and community. For Brandon, being a part of Strake Jesuit is being a part of a community that holds itself to excellence and challenges you to be the best version of yourself that you can be.

Matthew Rea ’17 graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and minors in Cybersecurity and Business. He will teach Computer Science and assist with football, wrestling, lacrosse, SJET, and the Communications Office. Since he was a student at Jesuit, he always knew that he wanted to dedicate a year in the ASC program because of the impact the school had on his life and how it helped form him into the man he is today. He is excited to use the skills he has gained as a student from Jesuit and Texas A&M and share them with our community. Matthew is thankful for everyone he has met at Jesuit, as well as the lifelong connections he made in the community.
