SPECTRUM FRC #3847 and Photon FRC #8515

Spectrum is a FIRST Robotics Team (FRC) #3847 from Houston, Texas. Photon FRC #8515 is Spectrum’s developmental team geared towards new students.

Photon was created to allow new students a chance to have more hands-on experience during the season and get to compete at 2 District events with the robot they built. Photon used the Everybot 2022 Design and made minor adjustments  based on the way that Spectrum often designs and builds robots.

Spectrum and Photon are sponsored by St. Agnes Academy, Strake Jesuit College Preparatory, NASA, Solarcraft, Inc, Gene Haas Foundation, Analog Devices, Texas Workforce Commission, FIRST in Texas, Intuitive Foundation, International Society of Automation - Houston Chapter, and QADWorks.

The teams work together to spread engineering to others, build robots, and have fun. Spectrum and Photon are recognized for their hard work, community outreach, teamwork, and promoting Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) through robotics workshops, service, & mentoring in Texas and China and their use of social media: Instagram, Blog, Tumblr, Flickr, YouTube, Twitter & Facebook. http://www.spectrum3847.org

FIRST ROBOTICS
The mission of FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting Mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership. FRC is a six-week competition program for high-school students to build an 120 pound (54 kg) robots with help from their mentors, both teachers, and engineers from a variety of companies. The students learned about engineering, programming, marketing, media, teamwork, cooperation, and much more. Each team is organized like a small business with many different tasks for students to do in addition to robot construction.
