Letters of Recommendation

Members of our college counseling staff are charged with writing letters of recommendation for our students during the college admissions process, and we rely greatly on parents' perspective.

The College Counselor letter is a vital endorsement in the student’s application file. Admissions officers read these letters carefully for a comprehensive view of how enrolling the student would benefit their campus community. A thorough resume, along with parent and student brag sheets brimming with details and anecdotes, will help your college counselor draft a personalized letter highlighting his best attributes; one that makes the applicant stand out from the crowd.

These are the three documents needed:

1. Parent Brag Sheet: To be completed by one or both parents.  The Parent Brag Sheet is available on Naviance from March 1 - September 1.   Login to your Naviance account, then select About Me and My Surveys.

2. Student Brag Sheet: To be completed by the student. You can access this survey by going to Naviance Family Connection, About Me tab, Look to the left under Surveys to Take. The name of the survey is Class of 2020 Student Information Brag Sheet.

3. Updated Activities Resume (projected through senior year): To be completed by student. Please see the attached/linked document below, titled Sample Senior Resume.  Please return to your son’s college counselor.
