Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! There are a great many things happening as we begin the year. Below you will find important information about programs, activities and events that you need to be aware of as we begin the school year. We are looking forward to another great year for our students and our school community.

Friday, August 10 at 6:30 pm in the Parsley Center
Students and their families are invited to join us for a welcome orientation and cookout. We will begin in the Parsley Center where parents and students will hear presentations from key administrators. Next, we will all gather for a cookout in the Moran Dining Hall after the presentations. Many moderators, coaches, and directors will be available during and after dinner to help families learn about extracurricular opportunities at Jesuit.

Monday, August 13 at 9:00 am in the Parsley Center
While freshmen attend Crusader Crew Freshman Orientation, the Mothers’ Club will host a general orientation and gathering for new parents.

Day 1: Monday, August 13 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm beginning in the Competition Gym The Crusader Crew will lead freshmen through orientation. Day 1 will focus on getting to know classmates and student leaders. Students will receive their iPads as part of orientation and matriculation. In preparation for this distribution, parents are invited for an optional 60 minute Q&A about iPad’s at Strake Jesuit from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm in the Parsley Center. Lunch for freshmen is provided by the school. We are serving chicken, french fries, and cookies. Students may bring their own food if needed.

Freshmen should wear shorts and shoes appropriate to athletic and outdoor activity, with a tee-shirt of his choosing—he will be provided a tee-shirt to change into. He should be clean shaven, with hair cut according to Community Life standards. Community Life can be found under the ‘About’ menu on the school website. Freshmen should also carry a refillable water bottle, a draw string bag or backpack, his valid Family Share apple ID and password, and an iPad Case. Students should have purchased all their textbooks before Orientation. 

Day 2: Tuesday, August 14 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm beginning in the Parsley Center Freshmen will participate in the second day of the Crusader Crew Orientation program. The morning begins with Mass, followed by activities focusing on team building, as well as the Strake Jesuit mission, the fundamentals of Ignatian spirituality, and the Jesuit tradition. Freshmen will receive their course schedules and walk through their schedules where they will meet each of their teachers.

Wear dress pants or “dress shorts” like khaki shorts, your House T-Shirt that was provided on Day 1, and closed-toed shoes. Remember to carry a water bottle.

Lunch is provided by the school. We are serving hamburgers, hot dogs, and chips. Students may bring their own food if needed.

Students must bring their iPad with its case back for Day 2, so textbooks can be downloaded. Before arriving on Day 2, the required paid iPad app Notability must be downloaded to students' iPads.

Wednesday, August 15 from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm beginning in the Clay Center Boardroom
Orientation will include a campus tour, small group sessions focusing on school traditions and student life, presentations from school leaders, and matriculation with your class. Lunch will also be provided. Students will also receive their iPads during Transfer Student Orientation. Students must bring a protective case for their iPads and a valid Apple ID. Wednesday, August 15 in the Parsley Center according to the times below 
Matriculation begins in the Parsley Center. Seniors will be in regular school dress. All other students will be in shirt & tie for Yearbook photos. Students must be clean shaven and have their hair cut according to standards in Community Life. Students will receive information about lockers via their Strake Jesuit email.

Seniors 9:00 am – 11:00 pm
Freshmen 10:15 am – 12:15 pm
Sophomores 11:30 pm – 1:30 pm
Juniors 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
