What is the Auction?




The Strake Jesuit Auction is a fun-filled evening with dinner, silent, big board and live auctions.  It is held annually every spring to raise money for Strake Jesuit College Preparatory.  This year’s event date is Saturday, April 13, 2019 and the theme is A Night in Old Havana.  Once again, this event will be held on the beautiful Strake Jesuit campus. All of the festivities will take place in and around the Competition Gym.

The Auction was first organized in 1981 to contribute financial support to the school’s operating budget. Over time, the school began to rely less on the Auction to support the annual budget and now primarily counts on the Auction to raise funds for the general endowment.  The general endowment supports everything from financial aid to teacher compensation, and retreat programs to athletics and extracurricular activities.  Every student at Strake Jesuit benefits from the funds raised at the auction.


Your gift to be included in the auction should accompanied by your completed  donor form so we know how to acknowledge you. You can even order online from for direct shipment to the school.  The auction offers a wide variety of items, and your donations of any size and type are greatly appreciated.  If you need some suggestions, how about…

GIFT WISH LIST:  Your gift need not be limited to the suggestions on the registries. Items can include things for adults, students, as well of for the home. Popular auction items include the use of vacation homes, restaurant gift certificates, tickets to sporting and theater events, high-tech gadgets, handmade items and jewelry.

GROUP GIFT:  Collaborating with other families on a group gift is a wonderful way to participate. Consider putting together a trip, a collection of fine wines, a night on the town – USE YOUR IMAGINATION!

CASH DONATIONS:  Of course we NEVER turn this down and would be happy to purchase a gift on your behalf, sometimes allowing us to choose just the right item to complete a package or to help underwrite a trip. We will accept cash donations at the parties and any time prior to our event.

UNABLE TO ATTEND??  Well… you will miss a FUN time but you can still make a donation! You can deliver items to the Hamilton Building (ATTN: Jill Ribbeck) or by mail to the school.

WHAT ABOUT PROGRAM ADS?  The auction program is the only place where you can place a printed ad that is mailed out to our community!  An ad can recognize your son, his sports team/club, OR advertise your business. There are many sizes and price points from which to choose.  Your ad will reach over 1500 households.  Ad forms may be found on the menu to the right.
