JV Golf Takes 2nd Place

Conditions were challenging at Pearland Golf Club: rain and wind were impactful all day.  The field featured 18 teams, including JV players with tournament experience.  We sent three freshman and two sophomores into the fray with minimal or no experience in high school tournament competition.  Measured by the results this young group surpassed any pre-tournament expectations and vaulted to a second place finish – three shots behind the winners.  Interestingly enough, each of our young men commented on how more focus could certainly have narrowed that gap and perhaps given us the win – solid reflection.
So when all was said and done we garnered the second place medals, and freshman Filipe Hinojosa was a medalist with the second lowest score of the day at 79 – one behind the leader.  It was a great day for Jesuit Golf and the effort and tenacity of this group will hopefully be sustained and improved.  Joining Filipe on our second place team were freshmen Kyle Prati and Lucas Gutierrez, along with Sophomores Trent Hubbard and Connor Ayers.
