Pilgrimages
Along with Retreats and Mission Trips, Strake Jesuit also offers students the opportunity to take school-sponsored Pilgrimages. These can include trips within the U.S., such as the annual March for Life event in Washington, D.C., as well as international trips, such as the annual pilgrimage to Spain.

Spring Break of 2019's pilgrimage traveled throughout Spain. This trip focused on the important sites in the life of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuits.

History:
This traditional Holy Thursday devotion, credited to St. Philip Neri, grew out of the desire of the faithful for keeping vigil and “watching.” For centuries, Catholics in many parts of the world have been visiting seven churches in their diocese on Holy Thursday after the Mass of the Lord’s Supper. This pilgrimage practice originated in Rome, where the faithful visited the seven Roman basilicas, saying prayers and “watching” in adoration at each. The pilgrimage to each church corresponds to seven “stops” or “stations” of the Via Crucis that were made by Jesus on his way to Calvary.

Journey to pray and reflect at seven churches in the Houston area.
We will be taking to pray with entering into Ignatian contemplation and pray in silence with the Blessed Sacrament in each of the stops.

Time: 8:30pm - ~12:30am. (Optional 'breakfast' afterwards).
