Incoming Students Robotics Camp

Summary: 
  • Introduction to the St. Agnes Academy and Strake Jesuit College Preparatory Robotics Team, Spectrum.
  • Spectrum competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition, the highest level of competitive high school robotics.
  • Learn the engineering skills involved in building a robot for high school competitions.
  • Learn to use advanced tools including 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC routers to create parts and mechanisms you will help design.
  • Introduction to engineering disciplines such as mechanical engineering, software engineering, and electrical engineering.
  • Guest speakers from a variety of engineering and STEM fields.
  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Programming, Machining, Computer Vision, and more.
  • Lead Instructor: Allen Gregory, Spectrum’s Head Coach, has over 22 years of educational robotics experience.

Application

Applications are open to St. Agnes Academy and Strake Jesuit students who will be in 9th or 10th grade in the 2024-25 school year. Preference will be given to incoming 9th-grade students and students who were not already involved in the engineering team. Click here to apply.

Dates:
  • Required Camp Days: Monday to Friday, June 10th to 21st, 9 am to 4 pm
  • Optional Saturdays: June 16th and June 22nd 1pm to 6pm
  • Optional Robotics Tournament: June 28th to 29th 8am to 8pm

Code of Conduct

Students will be expected to follow the student codes of conduct for Strake Jesuit and St. Agnes Academy, as well as the Spectrum Code of Conduct.
