Mrs. Alishia Amtmann

Alishia earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Diego Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. She was Vice President for “Fundación de Reintegración Social de la Sierra Tarahumara”, a non-profit organization. She led efforts to recruit and organize a group of lawyers working pro-bono to counsel the native Tarahumaras. Afterwards, with limited resources, she designed and implemented an education program for the Tarahumaras with the goal of helping them escape extreme poverty. Alishia also helped organize charity events to raise funds for the organization. In 2002, Alishia moved to Houston and enrolled her boys at the Regis School where she both organized and volunteered at a variety of advancement events from 2004 to 2013. Today, she is teaching English to immigrants through the Memorial Assistance Ministries. She also volunteers at Spring Spirit, an organization that raises funds to grant low income Hispanic boys opportunities to receive Christian mentorship through sports. Alishia is an active member of The Newman Circle, an organization that supports low income women attending Nursing School at the University of St. Thomas.

Alishia and her husband Guillermo have two sons, Guillermo ’16 is currently a student at Rice and Derek ’18 at the University of Houston.
