Theater

The Southwell Players and International Thespians are the theatrical group at Strake Jesuit. The Southwell Players have been a Jesuit tradition for over 40 years. The Southwell players include both the boys and the girls from St. Agnes and other participating schools. They are named after the British Jesuit saint, Robert Southwell.

Strake Jesuit has been a member of International Thespians since 1998. Troupe 4970 recognizes the work and commitment of outstanding theater students. Students must complete the equivalent of 100 hours of quality work in order to be inducted into the International Thespian Society.
Night of Ives
Come experience the Southwell Players in this year’s winter theater production!

What happens when wit, chance, and human connection collide? Night of Ives brings together five sharp, fast-paced one-act plays by David Ives - CaptiveSure ThingWords, Words, WordsArabian Nights, and Trotsky.

From absurd humor to clever wordplay, this compilation showcases the brilliance, unpredictability, and comedic timing that make Ives a modern theatrical favorite.

Our talented students bring these hilarious and thought-provoking scenes to life in an evening full of laughs, surprises, and moments that will keep you thinking long after the curtain falls.

Performances will be in Strake Jesuit’s Lowman Theater on February 18th at 7 PM, February 19th at 4 PM, February 20th at 7 PM, and February 21st at 2 PM.
