SJ Golf Three-Peats as District Champions

After struggling to find our rhythm on Wednesday, our A Team of William Suell, Will Gillette, Dominic Green, Greyson Carr, and Owen Gibney stormed back from a 12-shot deficit on Thursday, ultimately shooting a postseason school record 287 (-1) today as a team, and taking home the gold medals. Our two-day total of 594 (307-287) is also the lowest postseason two-day score in the 49-year history of SJ Golf. William Suell's two-day total of 143 (72-71) is tied for the second lowest postseason total in SJ history (behind only his 140 from last year) and earns him the individual crown as District Champion for the second consecutive year. Owen Gibney shot 70 (-2) today, while Greyson Carr shot 72 (E), both good for Top 10 postseason scores in SJ history and earning them First Team All-District honors. Joining our A Team at Regionals will be Connor Ayers, who birdied his last hole to shoot a total of 154, advancing as a individual with the best total score of any player on a non-advancing team. Our B Team of Rodolfo Maya, Connor Ayers, Noah Kim, Lucas Gutierrez, and Heger Davis finished third, and their performance was very encouraging for the future of SJ Golf.
