Tuition & Aid
The Strake Jesuit College Preparatory Board of Directors has set the tuition at $20,800 for the 2018-2019 school year. For incoming freshmen and transfer students, a non-refundable $1,000 payment is due at the time of registration ($500 registration fee and $500 tuition deposit). For returning students, a non-refundable $500 tuition deposit is due at the time of registration. If your son will be a senior, a $300 senior fee will also be due at the time of registration.
*Note – Tuition must be paid by cash or check. Credit cards are not accepted for tuition. Tuition must be paid in full each semester or with a full year tuition loan from Cadence Bank before your son will be allowed to start school.
After the application of the tuition deposit, the remaining tuition balance of $20,300 is payable by one of the following options.
- Annual payment of $20,300 due by July 1, 2018
- Semi-annual payments of $10,150 due on July 1, 2018 and December 1, 2018
- Tuition loan from Cadence Bank – a separate loan application must be completed and returned to Cadence bank by May 1, 2018. The loan is structured in ten (10) monthly installments with the first payment due to Cadence Bank on July 3, 2018. No loan applications for the year will be accepted after May 1, 2018.
It is the policy of the Board of Directors that all financial obligations to the school must be kept current in order for report cards, progress reports, grades and transcripts to be released. Students with a delinquent balance will not be allowed to start classes the next semester or receive their diploma. Enrollment at Strake Jesuit is understood to be for a full year. Registration fees, senior fee and tuition deposits are non-refundable. If a student withdraws prior to the first scheduled day of classes, a refund will be issued for that semester. No refunds will be issued after the first scheduled day of classes even if the student did not attend school on that day.
There will be a $100 late fee charged for tuition payments received after 7/1/18 and 12/1/18, plus the outstanding balance will continue to accrue interest charges at the rate of 12% per year. After 7/15/18 and 12/15/18, Strake Jesuit will not accept personal or business checks to settle tuition balances. There will be a $40 fee charged for all returned checks
Ignatian Scholar Award
The Ignatian Scholar Award is given to the top five incoming freshmen as determined by their entrance exam scores, overall academic record, and the quality of their application for admission to Strake Jesuit. The award is equal to 50% of the first year’s tuition. Recipients are notified in late April after they have registered as incoming freshmen. To be considered for the award, applicants must (1) take the entrance examination (either HSPT or ISEE) by February 1, and (2) have a completed application on file by the application deadline.
Strake Jesuit makes every attempt to support students who need financial aid. For the 2018-19 school year, approximately 15% of the student body will receive financial aid from a budget of $2.04 million. All applicants are notified of financial aid awarded when they receive their acceptance letter in March.
Strake Jesuit has contracted with FAIR (Financial Aid Independent Review) to process all financial aid applications and provide an objective evaluation of each family's financial need. FAIR is a nationally recognized leader in financial need evaluation services for Catholic and private schools. You may apply for financial aid through the FAIR service by regular mail or online.
Apply by Mail
The financial aid application, instructions, and mailing envelopes can be requested from the Strake Jesuit Financial Aid Office by phone at 713.448.8430 or by e-mail. Because the official application form must be used, the application is not available for download. Completed applications should be mailed directly to the FAIR service by the postmark deadline of Monday, January 15, 2018. Please include any necessary documentation along with a $30 check made payable to FAIR in the envelope provided.
Apply Online (available November 1st)
To submit your application to the FAIR service online, go to www.fairapp.com and click on the "On-line Application" link. You can then create a user account using your e-mail address and a password that you select. Once you have created a user account and signed in you will be able to complete the FAIR application online. During the application process you will need the following:
1. The Strake Jesuit School Code: 109
2. The Strake Jesuit School Password: sjcp109
3. A valid e-mail address
4. A credit card (Visa or MasterCard) to complete payment processing
5. A complete copy of your Federal Income Tax Return with all schedules and W-2's from the previous year
