SJ Lax vs Memorial

In full Friday Night Lights, for our third district game, SJ Varsity Lax rolled into the Grob Stadium to play the Memorial Mustangs. Looking to avenge two close games, the Crusaders fell behind 3-0 in the first quarter, but never backed down. By half, the Crusaders were down to the Mustangs 4 – 3. In a very physical contest, the Crusaders showed true grit, to hold the Mustangs to no goals in the second half. Behind 3 goals from Junior Midfielder Mason Moore Senior Attackman Jack Murrell, Junior Midfielder Carson Moore, and Junior Midfielder Joey Sigler all contributed to 7 – 4 win for the Crusaders.

First year varsity Defensemen Matthew Cordingley was awarded the teams Hard Hat for demonstrating in his actions that well done is better than well said. Asked to play defense both man down and full strength late in the fourth quarter, Matthew demonstrated that showing up consistently, working hard, and doing your job can lead you to big moments when it counts.

Seeing 36 shots, Senior Goalie Hampton Pillsbury was awarded the game ball for keeping a clean sheet for the entire second half.

The Crusaders take on Episcopal away Thursday March 10.

We fight on!
