Alumni Service Corps 2022-2023

Each year, Strake Jesuit welcomes back a group of alumni, just out of college, who dedicate a year of service in the Alumni Service Corps (ASC). They live in one of the Jesuit residences, observe a class taught by their faculty mentor, teach one class, work on retreats and service projects, and are involved in any number of possible athletic and extracurricular activities. This year, we welcome back Roberto Brunel ’15, Jared Jimenez ’15, and Jack Pittenger ’19.

Roberto Brunel ’15 is looking forward to fulfilling a long-time dream of his in serving Strake Jesuit. In 2017, he entered priestly formation with the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, which led him to receive his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of St. Thomas in Houston. He then went to Rome for Theological Studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University while attending the Pontifical North American College seminary in Rome. After leaving seminary, he spent one more year at the Gregorian and got his degree in Sacred Theology. This is his first time back in the United States after spending almost two years living abroad. Roberto is excited to give back to the community which so greatly contributed to his own formation.

Jared Jimenez ’15 is returning for a second year of service in the ASC. He graduated from Houston Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Wellness Management and a minor in Psychology. He will work with our Physical Education Department and assist with track and field and rugby. Jared attributes the man he is today to Strake Jesuit and is looking forward to giving back another year in the ASC.

Jack Pittenger ’19 graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. He looks forward to the various opportunities, teaching Anatomy and Physiology, coaching, and getting to work and uplift students during this year. He is pursuing a career in medicine and is excited for his year living and working in the Strake Jesuit community.
