Every year, four students are presented with the Crusader of the Year Award. This annual award recognizes one exemplary student from each grade level who has demonstrated the characteristics of a Man for Others. The freshman, sophomore, and junior awards were presented at the Father-Son Luncheon, and the senior award was presented at graduation. This year’s recipients are JD Arnold ’28, David Mikel ’27, Cameron Sloan ’26, and Luke Webber ’25.
JD Arnold ’28 does not just walk into a room - he brightens it. His respectful and engaging presence has made a lasting impression on both his peers and the adults around him. Whether helping a classmate, encouraging a teammate, or simply offering a smile to someone who needs it, he embodies the values of servant leadership every day. His natural ability to uplift others and his consistent care for the community around him make him a shining example of what it means to be a Crusader.
David Mikel ’27 exhibits all of the qualities that define this prestigious award. Even as a sophomore, this student already embodies the virtues we hope to see in every graduate of our community: he is loving, intellectually competent, open to growth, committed to doing justice, and deeply religious. He is kind and humble, a joy to be around, and a pleasure to interact with. He represents the true meaning of leading by example.
Cameron Sloan ’26 is a dedicated and successful student who is always up for a challenge. He is bright, hardworking, conscientious, and resilient. Through his involvement in Crusader Crew, track and field, and numerous clubs and organizations, this young man has embraced every aspect of our school community. His exemplary character, positive attitude, and strong moral compass make him a positive influence in our community.
Luke Webber ’25 reflects the school’s ideals through his quiet strength and steadfast faith. Gentle and polite, he has a magnetic peacefulness that others gravitate toward. He is academically gifted and is always willing to help others succeed. He serves others in many roles, including an altar server, a Kairos leader, a Ciszek leader, and an academic tutor. Because he represents what it means to be a Man for Others, it is with great pleasure that he receives this award.
