Varsity XC Takes 4th in The Woodlands
Closer to full strength but still without Reese Vannerson, Varsity XC travelled up I-45 to The Woodlands to compete in the very competitive Friday Night Lights Invitational. Going up against preseason state #2 The Woodlands, #3 Atascocita, a very good Austin Vandegrift team, and perennial rivals Katy Tompkins, the team finished 4th led by senior Luke deMahy in 13th place. Rounding out the top 5 were junior Jackson Jamison, senior Nathan Noe, sophomore Evan Fry and junior Andrew Buettgen. Next up is the Seven Lakes Showcase this coming Saturday.
In the same race, we also ran a varsity B team that placed 4th in the B division against several full-fledged varsity teams. They were led by junior Elliot Smythe in 9th. Rounding out the top 5 were sophomore Marcus Rohrig and juniors Henry Loft, Alejandro Mejia and Luke Vandermeer
