Nick Nevares ’99 awarded “Realtor of the Year” for the MLS’s Southern Region.
At the annual Realtors of Central Colorado event, Nick Nevares, Class of '99, received the prestigious "Realtor of the Year" award for the MLS Southern Region. This award was determined by a vote among his peers in the region and is presented to a Realtor who has demonstrated exceptional service to his community.
Nick's company, Mountainside Realty, has placed a strong emphasis on community engagement. They regularly provide free meals for approximately 200 people, host an annual Thanksgiving potluck (feeding over 600 people, and even during the COVID years), and actively contributes to local events such as the Crestone Energy Fair, which is the longest-running sustainability fair in the country.
Nick also took on a significant role in the Crestone Music Festival's board during its inaugural year of reinstatement and has plans to reinvigorate this annual event. Notably, he successfully raised funds through regional business sponsorships to construct a permanent stage in Crestone's central park. This project's first phase of construction was completed with the assistance of local laborers and volunteers.
Additionally, Nick initiated a scholarship program through his company, benefiting high school seniors. Named the "Pay it Forward" scholarship, it is designed to provide philanthropic mentorship and recognition to students who have contributed over 200 hours of community service.
Congratulations to Nick for his remarkable dedication and achievements!
