College Testing

Strake Jesuit is a national testing center for both the SAT and the ACT on certain dates, indicated below.   The test center coordinator for both the SAT and ACT is Dr. Richard Clinton.  His email is and his office phone is (713) 272-4374.

The SAT is a standardized test that measures what you learn in high school and what you need to succeed in college.  Information about the SAT is available on the College Board website.

There are many local and nation-wide companies that provide SAT test prep classes.  These classes range in length and cost.   In addition, the College Board provides free online practice tests.  Click here for more information.

The PSAT is administered annually to our 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students and includes a Reading Test, a Writing and Language Test, and a Math Test.  For more information about the PSAT, click on the following links:  PSAT NMSQT and PSAT 8/9.

Offered once a year on the Strake Jesuit campus, this optional exam provides our students with the opportunity to practice for the ACT exam.   In addition, the Pre ACT, in conjunction with the PSAT, is a good tool to use in determining which admissions test is right for each student.


AP Bulletin for Students and Parents
The 2018-2019 AP Bulletin has important information about the AP Exams, including the policies and procedures for exam administration and security that help ensure a fair and uniform testing experience for all students. On exam day, you’ll be asked to sign a statement on your answer sheet indicating you understand and agree to the policies and procedures in this publication.
