Tuition & Affordability

The Affordability of Strake Jesuit

Strake Jesuit is committed to making a Catholic, Jesuit education accessible to every young man who is called to it, regardless of his family’s financial situation.

We believe the cost of tuition should never deter a student who has the desire and ability to succeed in the classroom, to embrace our Catholic, Jesuit mission, and to grow as a leader and a Man for Others from attending our school.

We invite you to apply to Strake Jesuit with confidence, knowing that we will work closely with you to help explore ways to make your son’s education at Strake Jesuit a reality.

Tuition Without Hidden Fees

Tuition for the 2025–2026 school year is $28,270. We recognize that this represents a significant investment for families, so at Strake Jesuit we are very intentional about including as much as possible in tuition so that families are not surprised by a long list of additional fees.

Textbooks are included in tuition. Physical textbooks are delivered straight to a student's home and digital textbooks are sent directly to his iPad, creating a seamless experience that saves both time and money.

Every student at Jesuit receives the latest-generation iPad and keyboard case. The full cost of these devices and their insurance is included in tuition. There are no additional technology or device fees charged by the school.

Tuition also covers AP Exam fees, SAT and ACT test preparation courses, course-related fees for classes such as ceramics and science labs, academic supports provided by the Learning Resource Center and Academic Resource Center, most expenses for extracurricular and athletic activities, and even science lab goggles, P.E. uniforms, and parking fees.

While there are still some fees for optional items, such as personal athletic equipment or specialized programs, Strake Jesuit’s model significantly reduces the number of "extra" charges and reflects our commitment to genuine affordability for our families.

Financial Aid

Strake Jesuit offers need-based financial aid to help make a Catholic, Jesuit education attainable for families who require assistance. Financial aid is awarded as grants that do not need to be repaid and is based on demonstrated financial need, not on a student’s academic or extracurricular record.

Any family who believes they may need assistance is strongly encouraged to apply. There are no income limits. All families are welcome to submit an application.

This year, approximately 25% of our students received financial aid of over $5.8 million. Awards ranged from $4,000 to full aid. The average award was $16,557.

Each family’s full financial situation is reviewed confidentially through Blackbaud Financial Aid Management, an independent service that evaluates financial need for many Catholic and private schools. The financial aid application is submitted online and requires recent tax and income information.

The Financial Aid application deadline for both freshman applicants and returning students is January 15, 2026. Families who meet this deadline receive their financial aid decision at the same time as their admission decision in March.

Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA)

TEFA accounts are state-funded education savings accounts that can help families pay for private school costs, including Strake Jesuit tuition. TEFA funds can also be used for items such as meals, transportation, tutoring, technology, instructional materials, and more.

Students awarded TEFA funds are expected to receive approximately $10,400 per year. Students with disabilities who have an IEP may be eligible for up to $30,000 per year. Students needing an IEP should start that process now. Learn more about how to get an IEP here.

Once awarded, families continue to receive funds through 12th grade without reapplying. Additionally, if one child in a family receives TEFA, all siblings who applied are also awarded TEFA funds, creating substantial savings for families with multiple children in private schools.

All Texas students are eligible to apply for TEFA. Families considering Strake Jesuit are encouraged to submit a TEFA application, even if they are unsure whether they will qualify. There is no cost to apply.

Beginning February 4, 2026, parents can submit TEFA applications with funds available for use for the 2026–27 school year. To learn more and apply, visit the TEFA website using the link below.
