    Freshman Orientation (Day 1)

    Tuesday, August 11 & Wednesday, August 12
    Crusader Crew is a student-led program focused on supporting freshmen during their first year at Jesuit. The goal of the two-day Crusader Crew Orientation is to help students adjust to Jesuit life, prepare for the year ahead, and begin to take ownership of their Strake Jesuit experience.
     
    Day 1: Tuesday, August 11
    8:00 am to 3:30 pm beginning outside the Competition Gym      
    Day 1 will focus on getting to know classmates and student leaders, as well as beginning the process of building the distinctive Strake Jesuit community. Students will also receive their iPads.

    For Day 1:
    • Wear athletic shorts, athletic shoes, and a T-shirt appropriate for athletic and outdoor activity. The school will provide a House T-Shirt for students to change into later in the day.
    • Be clean-shaven, with hair cut according to Community Life standards.
    • Bring a valid Apple ID and password, with Family Share already enabled. Students will receive an iPad Air M3 with 13-inch screen and keyboard case.
    • Bring a refillable water bottle.
    • Bring a drawstring bag or backpack.
    Lunch is provided by the school. For special dietary needs, a salad option will be available, or a packed lunch may be brought from home.

    Freshman Orientation (Day 2)

    Tuesday, August 11 & Wednesday, August 12
    Crusader Crew is a student-led program focused on supporting freshmen during their first year at Jesuit. The goal of the two-day Crusader Crew Orientation is to help students adjust to Jesuit life, prepare for the year ahead, and begin to take ownership of their Strake Jesuit experience.
     
    Day 2: Wednesday, August 12
    8:00 am to 3:30 pm beginning in the Parsley Center     
    Day 2 will focus on the practical aspects of Jesuit student life. Freshmen will review their course schedules, find their classrooms, and receive guidance on digital citizenship and responsible iPad use. They will continue building community in their Crusader Crew small groups, which will become their Advisory groups for the next four years. The day will include a teaching Mass to help students better understand the religious nature and mission of our school, and remarks from school leadership to prepare for the year ahead.
     
    For Day 2:
    • Wear dress pants, dress shoes, and a button-down shirt with tie, all in accordance with the dress code found in Community Life. Yearbook photos will be taken and Mass will be celebrated.
    • Be clean-shaven, with hair cut according to Community Life standards.
    • Bring school-issued iPad. Those with technical issues related to the iPad or digital books should visit the IT Help Desk in the Moody Memorial Library between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
    • Bring a refillable water bottle. 
    Lunch is provided by the school. For special dietary needs, a salad option will be available, or a packed lunch may be brought from home.

    Orientation to Ownership, which was originally scheduled for August 15th, is postponed for a later date. When our plans are finalized, we will send parents a new invitation for this fun and interactive exploration of beliefs and practices to help prepare parents to support their son on his Strake Jesuit journey toward ownership.
