Mass of the Holy Spirit

On September 3, our school community came together to celebrate the annual Mass of the Holy Spirit, a tradition among Jesuit academic institutions that dates back to shortly after the founding of the Society of Jesus. The Mass marks the beginning of a new school year and gives students, faculty, and staff an opportunity to come together in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit for guidance, wisdom, and strength throughout the year. 

We were especially blessed to welcome Fr. Drew Kirschman, S.J., who was newly installed as the provincial of the Jesuits USA Central and Southern Province, as our main celebrant. 

During the liturgy, we also renewed our Jesuit sponsorship with the province, reaffirming our shared mission between our school and the Jesuits USA Central and Southern Province of forming Men for Others. As part of the ceremony, Fr. Jeff Johnson, S.J., and Fr. RV Baylon, S.J., signed the official paperwork on behalf of the school. 

As we begin another school year, we are grateful for the opportunity to gather together in faith and community.
