Varsity Hockey Defeats Cinco Ranch 4-1

In front of Ignatian Nation and on Senior night, the Strake Jesuit Ice Crusaders made history by being the first team in the Interscholastic Hockey League since 2003 to go a perfect 20-0 in the regular season and the first team in their inaugural season ever to do it. After honoring the seniors, the Crusaders came out buzzing, getting on the board early: Bryan Graham '23 scored the first of his 2 goals off a feed from Darshan Patel '25, who went on to score the game winner early in the second period. Rounding out the scoring with a goal and an assist of his own was Harrison Swarts '25. Misha Saratovtsev '24 earned his 10th win of the season, stopping 21 of Cinco Ranch's 22 shots. But the stars of the game were Jesuit's 3 seniors, Michael Martinez, Grisha Nikulin, and Diego Lopez, who all began and finished the game together. The team celebrated and will continue to celebrate these fine young men and their accomplishments this year; we thank them for their leadership on and off the ice.

The Hockey program not only thanks these Seniors but also Ignatian Nation, our parents, and members of the faculty and staff for cheering us on to victory. While it was a great night, we have more work to do, and we look forward to the postseason, which begins next Saturday night at Sugar Land. We are SJ!
