Judge Ken Wise ’86 Named 2025 Ignatian Award Alumnus of the Year
At Strake Jesuit, we often speak of what it means to be a Man for Others, to live a life marked by faith, generosity, and service. Each year, the Strake Jesuit Ignatian Award recognizes an alumnus whose life reflects the academic, religious, and social values of the Jesuit tradition. He demonstrates outstanding generosity to the community and, through professional achievement, has made a meaningful impact on the world around him.
We are proud to honor Judge Ken Wise ’86 as this year’s Ignatian Award recipient for Alumnus of the Year. Over the course of more than 30 years, Judge Wise has dedicated his career and his life to public service, education, and the preservation of Texas history. A respected jurist currently serving as Senior Associate Judge on the 14th Court of Appeals, he has also taught future leaders as an adjunct professor, served on influential judicial commissions, and held leadership roles in some of Houston’s most impactful charities. Beyond the courtroom, Ken has made a global impact through his award-winning podcast, Wise About Texas, which has reached listeners in 165 countries and brought Texas history to life for over 1.8 million people. His devotion to justice, education, and service truly embodies the Jesuit tradition of being a Man for Others.
Please join us on November 1, 2025, for Strake Jesuit's Night of Honor to celebrate the induction of our Athletic Hall of Honor and honor our Ignatian Award winner. Tickets to the event can be found here.
