Mr. Mark Shoberg ’91
Mark Shoberg is Chief Investment Officer and Partner with Capital Creek Partners where he is responsible for the firm’s investment activities across asset classes, including fixed income, public markets, private equity, venture capital, real estate, natural resources, and credit.
Previously, Mark spent nearly 16 years working in senior positions with two prominent university endowments. From 2016 to 2021, Mark was a Managing Director with Stanford Management Company responsible for SMC’s global real assets investment portfolio. Prior to joining SMC in 2016, Mark spent over ten years with the University of Texas Investment Management Company. At UTIMCO, Mark served as Managing Director responsible for the firm’s real estate, technology, and healthcare investments.
Mark’s earlier work experience provided him with broad exposure to a number of industries including technology, oil & gas, consulting, and real estate. This experience included working in the consulting division of Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and in the strategic development group of VerticalNet Inc., a software provider of on-demand supply chain management solutions and business-to-business procurement portals.
In addition to serving on many venture capital, private equity, natural resource, and real estate fund advisory boards throughout his career, Mark has also been an active participant in leading industry organizations. Mark has also served as a guest lecturer for Stanford University and the University of Notre Dame. He now serves on the Investment Committee for the St. Andrew's Episcopal School of Austin Endowment and the Board of Directors for the Strake Jesuit Foundation.
Mark received an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and BE in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
