Jesuit Wrestling Opens up Day 1 of Woodlands Elite Invitational 2-0
The Strake Jesuit Wrestling Team ventured up I-45 to compete in the Woodlands Elite Invitational Dual Tournament Friday afternoon. The Crusader grapplers came out strong albeit short handed on Day 1 finishing with a 2-0 record.
First up on the night was Cy-Woods where Jesuit came out dominant with a 58-24 win over the Wildcats. Junior Chico Holt competed in his first match ever where he won by pin in the second period. Out of the ten wins by the Green and White, seven of them resulted in pins.
In the second dual of the night, the crusaders once again came out victorious against the Conroe panthers in their second meeting of the year. Junior Charlie Aramburo claimed his first Varsity win of his career with a pin early in the first period, securing the win for Jesuit. Other notable competitors of the night include Sophomore Jackson Ham and Senior John Gabbanelli who both remain undefeated on the season. Gabbanelli is 16-0 on the season with 15 pins.
Jesuit continues pool play on Saturday morning competing against Katy Taylor and Terry before entering the medal rounds later in the day.
