Jesuit Football vs Clements

The Fighting Crusaders defeated the Clements Rangers 45-14 on Homecoming Night in front of a packed Clay Stadium. The Crusaders started fast and played physical the entire game. Offensively, Jesuit racked up 464 yards and was led by QB Zander Hoover '28 with 165 in the air and 174 on the ground. Hoover found the End Zone 4 times on the ground along with RB Luke Stewart '28 and DB Matthew Hebert '28. Other notable players were WR Elijah Gassett '27 with 3 catches for 69 yds, RB/WR Grayson Ochoa '27 with 87 all-purpose yds, and RB Cade Barrett '28 had 8 carries and 22 yds. The Crusader Defensive played solid all night as well allowing Clements only 262 total yards. They caused 5 turnovers and blocked 2 Field Goals. The 4 INT's were by: LB Nick Starling '27, DB Grant Allen '28, and DB Luke Leone '27 had 2 INT's (and Leone blocked a FG). Joe Gagnon caused the one fumble, but Clements recovered it. Defensively, LB Harrison Socha led with 12 tackles and had the other blocked FG. LB Paolo Masso had 7 tackles, LB Cameron McNulty '27 had 7 tackles and 1 sack. Place Kicker Bruno Burga also got in on the action with the 28 yard field goal. This game was a total team win for the Crusaders, and it brings the Crusaders' overall record to 1-5; (1-2 in District). Thank you to everyone who was at the game...it was electric. The Crusaders are on a short week next week taking on FB Austin at Mercer Stadium on Thursday, Oct 7 at 7:00 pm. We hope everyone can make the short drive down I-59.
